WalkSafe is designed to help both residents and visitors feel more secure when moving around the Ashford area. The app offers real‑time journey sharing, access to a national safe‑space map, and instant SOS alerts.

WalkSafe aims to support safer route planning across the borough. Users can share their journey with trusted friends or family and set an estimated time of arrival. If you don’t reach your destination as expected, your chosen contacts will automatically be notified so they can check in on your wellbeing.

The app also includes a feature for reporting local safety concerns—such as poor lighting or overcrowded areas—helping to keep the community informed. In addition, it draws on up‑to‑date police crime statistics to highlight potential hotspots and support safer travel decisions.
